About Us

Bead of Love grew out of a shared joy for creating jewelry between a mother and daughter. In 2003, Susan Schacter began designing and crafting jewelry for friends and family from a home studio. As local interest and demand for her pieces grew, Susan refined her designs and honed her handcrafting skills in metals, natural materials, and semiprecious stones.

At the age of 10, Susan's daughter Brianna joined in, and began crafting her own simple pieces. By the age of 14, Brianna had developed into a skilled artisan with a style all her own, and the pair offered their designs through local jewelry shows and events.

In 2010, as Brianna was preparing to enter college, a devastating 7.0 earthquake hit Haiti. Brianna and a high-school classmate searched for a way to raise funds for relief efforts. The pair launched a non-profit organization and began creating and selling jewelry with all proceeds going to the Haitian relief effort.

In 2012, with daughter Brianna now attending college, Susan Schacter expanded the company into commercial jewelry and created Bead of Love. Although heroriginal lines remain rooted in nature and are extremely popular, Susan is now expanding her designs with classical and contemporary influences.

Soon, we will be expanding into textiles, home goods, and other products. Please look for us at local events.

We combined our life long passions of making jewelry and our focus of creating a global change.
